About Me

I bring more than two decades of experience in higher education, creative practice, and academic leadership within higher education. I currently serve as a tenured Full Professor of Photography and Art Department Chair at Bellevue College, where I’ve led curriculum development, program assessment, faculty hiring, and long-term strategic planning. My work centers on studio instruction, visual literacy, interdisciplinary program design, equity-centered leadership, and the thoughtful integration of emerging technologies in arts education.

Prior to joining Bellevue College, I held academic and administrative roles at Arizona State University, Lewis & Clark College, and Glendale Community College. I also served as Gallery Director at Bellevue College, where I developed exhibition programming, strengthened curatorial practice, and created meaningful opportunities for student and community engagement. Alongside my academic work, I have maintained an active professional practice in photography, design, and media production.

Throughout my career, I have partnered closely with faculty, staff, and institutional leaders to strengthen teaching practices, improve student pathways, and build well-supported studio and learning environments. My approach emphasizes collaboration, transparency, and careful alignment between curriculum, facilities, and student support systems.

At a time when arts education continues to evolve in response to changing technologies and student needs, I remain committed to adaptability, access, and academic excellence. My experience in program development, community engagement, and international education supports forward-looking approaches that center student success and meaningful creative inquiry.
